Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do the Stika machines work on a 64 bit processors?
A: Yes, they support 64 bit processors for Windows Vista and Windows 7.
Q: What is the difference between the Roland Stika cutters and the Graphtec CC330-20?
A: The Graphtec CC330 is made mainly for card stock and takes 9” vinyl. I would not recommend this machine for people doing decals or cutting vinyl. Most hobbyists will enjoy this machine. It comes with a carrier sheet with a sticky backing to cut the card stock on. It can take 8.5 x11 inch paper. The maximum sheet size is 11” by 40” long. It cuts at 0.4 to 3.9 inch/sec. This machine also weighs 5.5lbs. You computer must have 128MB memory to use the cutting program Robo Master made by Graphtec to cut. It also has a ball-point pen holder that comes with. It has an optical eye. The optical eye is used to read registration marks. You would need this to do card stock or to do t-shirt transfers
The Roland Stika cutters take 8”, 12” or 15” vinyl depending on the size machine you get. This is made mainly for vinyl cutting and decals. I do not recommend this for card stock; it does not come with a carrier sheet. The SV8 and SV12 cut 0.44 to 9.6 inches/sec, and the SV15 cuts 0.43 to 3.9 inches/sec. This does not have an optical eye but however you can still cut with registration marks. You can mainly set the marks to do t-shirt transfers. This takes a little bit longer so I would recommend a 24” cutter to someone doing a lot of t-shirt transfers.
Q: Do the Stika cutters cut card stock?
A: The Stika cutters are not made to do card stock. They are made to cut mainly vinyl used for t-shirt making or sign making.
Q: Will the Stika cutters cut flock materials?
A: The Stika cutters are not are not able to cut flock material. They do not have enough down force to cut through thick materials like flock.
Q: What is the warranty offered on the Stika SV-15?
All warrantys are through the manufacturer, not Specialty Graphics.
A: A 1 year warranty.
